A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MAKING OF A MUSIC MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH OF CENTRAL AFRICA PRESBYTERIAN SYNOD OF BLANTYRE
Rev Mbeza - The Music Director
It is claimed that music writing began about four thousand years ago and that man has been singing for three million years. Indeed singing was adopted from the birds of the air, which have been singing, though without meaning, for millions of years is a sign of life for living things particularly the birds of the air and mankind. Any human gathering for any action is noted by sound. Music is accordingly a sign of life, action and progress.
The church's existence grows on congregations whose worship is sharpened by music. Without music, congregational church worship is stunted. The entire life of the Christian church today interacts with Christian musical communication. This could be the reason why the Blantyre Synod sought to inaugurate the Music Department in the year 1981. After the resurrection of the body with Christ after death, no other form of church worship is expected, except singing to the Lord in all the light without day or night. Hence I invite all interested in this subject join me as we survey together the beginnings of a church music ministry in the Blantyre Synod. Read More |
CELEBRATING THE POWER OF MUSIC IN THE CCAP SYNOD OF BLANTYRE ON 20TH OCTOBER 2012
The Church of Central Africa Presbyterian, Synod of Blantyre celebrated the healing, nurturing and praising Church Music on 20th October 2012. This is so because of great developments which have occurred in the Synod of Blantyre due to use of Church Music. The Synod believes that it is important to have this celebration as we will be remembering the good music work done by the early musician pioneers in the Synod of Blantyre. For the Music celebration to be a success, an organising committee has been put in place for the event. The activities to take place include Choir singing, collages prepared, and awards to those who contributed towards Church music growth. Follow this link to read more and about how you can get involved and help this event take place. Fore more details contact: "The General Secretary" [email protected]
