The CCAP Likhubula House at the bottom of Mountain Mulanje is a great place to start your ascent and exploration of Mulanje Mountain. You can also watch the annual Porters Race (July) which some people say is probably the best race in the world.

Likhubula House is the ideal start point for accommodation prior to ascending to Chambe Basin or Lichenya Plateau. The mountain huts that are most accessible from a Likhubula House base are Chambe, France's Cottage, Lichenya Hut and of course the CCAP cottage - Hope Rest. If you are fit you can reach Chisepo Hut at the base of Sapitwa in one go from Likhubula.

For the less adventurous, various idylic pools and waterfalls at the base of Mulanje Mountain can be reached quite easily.
